Showrunner of the YearOn April 14, 2008, in Toronto, Peter Mohan won the award "Showrunner of the Year", awarded by the Writers Guild of Canada. The WGC site describes the award thus:

The first winner was Brad Wright, Stargate Atlantis/Stargate SG-1
At the same ceremony, Blood Ties writer and Executive Story Editor Denis McGrath won an award for DRAMA SERIES 1 hour - not for Blood Ties, but for an episode of his series Across the River to Motor City: “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” The episode was co-written with Robert Wertheimer
Best DirectorIn April 2008 at the 41st WorldFest - Houston International Film Festival - director David Winning won the Gold Special Jury Award in the category Television & Cable Productions for Blood Ties episode "5:55", 1x15.
Nomination for best original musical scoreOctober 2008, Composer James Jandrisch was nominated for a GEmini award in the category Best Original Music Score for a Program or Series for the episode "Deep Dark".
Nomination for best cinamatographyMay 2008, Cinamatographer Danny Nowak was nominated for a LEO award in the category Best Cinematography in a Dramatic Series for the episode "Hearts of Fire".
